Our Privacy and Anti-Spam Policy

This policy governs your use of this website.

February 25, 2006.

At personalDNA, we recognize that your privacy is an important issue, so we design and operate our services with the protection of your privacy in mind.

Data collection

In our questionnaires, we may ask for preference or demographic information. This information is optional. Only if you choose to display your test results to others will they be able to associate your results with you.

Taking a questionnaire at personalDNA will not lead to spam, and your email address will not be given to a third party under any circumstances.

Like most sites, the personaldna.com web server records a log file of web activity. We use this log file to develop and improve our services. The web server log files contain limited non-personally identifying information your browser makes available whenever you visit a website. These log files are not correlated with the questionnaire database.

If you take tests at personalDNA while logged in as a riffs.com user, you will have the option to link your results to your riffs information. If you choose to link your results to your riffs information, the results will still not be made public. They will, however, allow us to offer better recommendations to you. Once again, this does not mean that other people will be able to see your results.

psych you/psych me

Our "psych you/psych me" feature allows you to share your results with others, and gives people the opportunity to take the test for you. This means that they can assess your personality, and you can compare their assessments to your self-assessment. You always have control over how public or private your results are. If you choose to keep your report private, no one will be able to see it. However, if you share your report with others, either by posting a link or by setting your results to "public" in the "psych you/psych me" feature, people will then be able to see your results. You can always change this setting on your report page.

Facebook

If you have taken the personality test through facebook.com, you can display your personalDNA personality map on your facebook page. In order to do this, you must create a free account on one of our pages (personaldna.com, riffs.com, buzzvote.com), and then use your username and password to put your personality map on your facebook page. (If you've already taken our test and have an account, you can post the results to facebook by installing the personalDNA application and signing in to your personalDNA /riffs/buzzvote account.) If you do this, others on facebook will be able to see your personality map. After you take the test, you can post the results to facebook, or keep them private by setting the facebook application to private here.

Cookies

When you take a questionnaire on personaldna.com, for the duration of the test, a "session cookie" is sent to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. A "cookie" is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. These cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, personalDNA questionnaires may not function properly without cookies.

Information security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data.

We restrict access to our computer systems to employees who require access in order to operate, develop or improve our services.

Changes to this Policy

Please note this Privacy Policy will change from time to time. We will post those changes on this page.
